Astrid Plumb
Clinical Psychologist
BA (Psych) Hons, MPsych (Clinical)

Astrid is a Clinical Psychologist, who enjoys working with clients of all ages.

Astrid's approach and therapy style is summarised below:

"I have experience working with people who are dealing with a range of psychological difficulties. These include stress, depression, anxiety, interpersonal conflict, eating difficulties, and personality disorders. I also enjoy working with people with perinatal and postnatal mental health concerns. Furthermore, I have got in-depth knowledge of mental health issues applicable to people suffering from a chronic illness. I have provided individual, dyadic, couples and family therapy sessions from various perspectives. The evidenced-based interventions in which I have experience include cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, emotion focused therapy, mentalizing, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness and acceptance and commitment therapy in either short term or longer term individual and group therapy sessions.

I aim to create a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients by providing an open and non-judgemental environment. Assisting people, who are brave enough to seek psychological support, with dealing with their psychological difficulties and providing them with the necessary tools for the future is what drives me as a psychologist. All my clients, no matter their presenting difficulties, inspire me to find and provide the best possible intervention suited to this particular client".
